After breaking out in 2018 with her Grammy-nominated debut album, Girl Going Nowhere, Ashley McBryde is readying her sophomore album for 2020.
The Arkansas native is sharing her first sample of new music since her debut project with new single, âOne Night Standards.â Penned by Ashley, Nicolette Hayford and Shane McAnally, the new tune was produced by Jay Joyce and will impact country radio on Sept. 23.
After Ashley and Nicolette came up with the idea for the track in early 2019, they revisited the song during a writing session with Shane.
âWe had to walk away from it to give it a second to breathe,â says Ashley. âWhen we got back in a room, this time Shane was with us and I joked, âYou know, hotel rooms . . . they only have one night stand for a reason. Theyâre one night stand-ers.â Shane and Nicâs eyes lit up, âDid you just say one night standards?ââ
Ashley enlisted her touring band to perform on the track: Quinn Hill on drums, Chris Sancho on bass, Matt Helmkamp on electric guitarâalong with Ashleyâand Chris Harris on background vocals and acoustic guitar. Jay Joyce also plays electric guitar, acoustic guitar and keys.
